Is this you?
This course isn't for everyone.
It's for people who want to take an active role at the center of their own birth — who want to advocate for themselves and have a voice, who want informed, involved partners, who want a birth that aligns with their values, and who wish to explore beyond the physical aspects of the birth process.
If you relate to these, this course is for you.
I don't want to feel scared.
Fear often comes from the mysterious and unknown. Education is a proven deterrent to fear. When expectant families understand their options, know the language, feel confident in the process, and know the questions to ask, everything changes.
I want to know what my options are.
If you don't know what your options are, you don't have options. Many people feel like they are showing up to the Labor and Delivery unit, being put on a conveyor belt, and simply being run through the system. Knowing that there are often many ways to accomplish the same thing gives you incredible power to shape your birth.
I want my partner to know how to help.
Many partners want to help, they just don't know how. Integrated Birth equips partners with the knowledge, tools, resources, and skills to help you stay physically comfortable, maintain a good headspace, and feel emotionally anchored. They will learn the signs and stages of labor and what to do in each stage, how to put together the "labor puzzle," powerful advocacy skills, physical comfort measures, and more.
I want to avoid unnecessary interventions.
Interventions can be necessary and lifesaving… sometimes. Unfortunately, they are also frequently overused, sometimes to the detriment of the mother, baby, or birth experience. This course helps you understand common interventions, what they are intended to accomplish, what alternatives may exist, and how to have intelligent conversations with your providers about interventions you may face.
I want to feel confident instead of overwhelmed.
This is one of the most frequent comments we hear at Integrated Birth. We often hear some version of: "I started this course so anxious and finished it feeling more confident than I knew I could." The lessons build on each other, and by the end, you will be birth-literate, confident, and fully prepared to engage with your birth, regardless of how it unfolds.
I want to trust my body.
We believe that childbirth is a normal physiological process that typically needs gentle support rather than heavy-handed management. This course is built on the foundation that pregnancy is not a disease and childbirth is not a medical procedure. Your body is wise, and your intuition can be counted on. Birth is the ultimate example of embodied knowledge, and we can learn to work with it.
I want to know I can be okay even if birth doesn't go as planned.
Childbirth is unpredictable. Our goal is not to guarantee a particular outcome or create rigid expectations, but to help you build a resilient mind that can adapt and recover when birth takes an unexpected turn. Through tried-and-true methods such as hypnosis, meditation, sports psychology, and thought training, you'll develop tools to navigate uncertainty and bounce back more easily. Even when birth doesn't unfold the way you imagined, it can still be a positive and meaningful experience when you are supported, heard, and respected.
Wherever and however you're planning to birth.
This course is relevant whether you're preparing for an unmedicated birth or planning an epidural. It's helpful for single parents and for those with very involved partners, and it gives you tools that apply to both hospital and out-of-hospital birth — whether you're working with midwives or OBs.
Sounds like you?
Step into your birth as an active participant — informed, prepared, and confident, however it unfolds.
